“Prayer Is The Door, Faith Is The Key”

Hebrews‬ ‭11:1‬ ‭ESV‬‬

“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.”

Last week, God was teaching me about what ‘faith’ really is and how it works. I have been reading my bible and praying and listening to a pastors podcast. Pastor Rick Warren goes on to explain that “Whatever you want and pray for, thank Him as if you have already received it.” I was blown away because I have heard this years ago by another man. Then he says “When you pray don’t keep asking for it every time. One time is enough. He knows what you want and/or need before you do. When you pray and thank Him for it in advance, its showing Him you believe He’s gonna keep His promise to provide for you. When you ask Him, it shows Him you have doubts.” Again I was just blown away. I just love how God teaches us.

In Daniel 3 it shows what God can do if you show Him faith. He rescued Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego from the fiery furnace because they CHOSE to have faith in God to protect them.

Daniel 3:21-25~

So they tied them up, fully dressed—shirts, robes, caps, and all—and threw them into the blazing furnace. Now because the king had given strict orders for the furnace to be made extremely hot, the flames burned up the guards who took the men to the furnace. Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, still tied up, fell into the heart of the blazing fire. Suddenly Nebuchadnezzar leaped to his feet in amazement. He asked his officials, “Didn’t we tie up three men and throw them into the blazing furnace?” They answered, “Yes, we did, Your Majesty.” “Then why do I see four men walking around in the fire?” he asked. “They are not tied up, and they show no sign of being hurt—and the fourth one looks like an angel.”

So, whatever it is that you need/want at this very moment, pray and thank Him for giving it to you as if you have already received it. God will provide!

‭‭Mark‬ ‭11:24‬ ‭ESV

“Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”‬‬

“Loving As He Loves” Is Hard To Do…

Luke 6:27&28- “But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, and pray for those who mistreat you.”

How can I LOVE those who mistreat me, abuse me, or act like they are better than me? How can I show them Gods love? The kind thats unconditional? How can I love a world that is so full of hatred and evil?

Matthew 22:39- The second most important commandment is like it: ‘Love thy neighbor as you love yourself.’

This is probably the HARDEST commandment God has ever given us.

I wanna be like Jesus. I strive to be like Jesus. I live to be like Jesus. I want to forgive as He forgives. I want to love as He loves. I want to give as He gives. When people talk bad about me, hurting me in any way, and just being plain ugly to me over and over after I am so loving and kind to them, I have to admit, it makes me so angry. I begin to hate this person and then I get angrier at myself because we are called to LOVE each other and I failed to do so. He is teaching me to ‘love’ others, no matter what. Kill evil with kindness, no matter what. Very hard lesson so far. Please keep me in prayer for my heart to be changed. To show the fruits of the Spirit to others so they can meet Jesus through me.

Galatians 5:22&23- But the Spirit produces love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, humility, and self-control. There is no law against such things as these.

I am so happy to know, that no matter what, Gods love in never ending, despite our failures and sins.
